Pet of the Week: Tucker
The Elmore County Humane Shelter in Wetumpka offers Tucker for adoption as the pet of the week. I love his coat colors; they are so handsome and a little unusual. Tucker is an active happy-go-lucky male hound mix, almost 1-and-a-half years old and about 40 pounds.
He is a super playful and friendly boy, loves toys, great with other dogs, cats and also with children.
Tucker would love to make his new forever home with you and play and romp around while his loyalty for you grows. Of course any dog you adopt from the shelter takes patience and some training; after all, you don’t know what life was like before they got taken to the shelter. Some were not given the best of care or loved as they should be. All animals from the shelters are “rescued” from something. You could be Tucker’s saving grace.
Unfortunately, Coosa County does not have a humane shelter or an animal control officer yet. But this is in the talks and would be such a good thing for all concerned; we saw several dogs dead on the roadsides over the holidays, and that is just a cruel thing to happen if that dog has an owner that doesn’t care at all. When fines begin to happen, that will wake them up.
COVID-19 regulations are still in effect for visiting the shelter in Wetumpka. First call or email for an application, and when that has been approved, a date will be set up for you to meet Tucker and any of the other residents at the shelter. The connection is 334-567-3377, and email is email@example.com.
Until next week, keep your fur babies warm and well-watered while we have this winter spell,
The Dog Lover
