Pet of the Week: Dolly
The Elmore County Humane Shelter is featuring Dolly as the pet of the week, ready for adoption. Dolly is a 2-year-old hound, about 60 pounds. She is a tall girl, super sweet and lovely as can be. Dolly does have a wonderful melodious hound voice.
Dolly is great with other dogs and cats, and she is good on a leash. Of course she loves toys, as well as belly rubs. Dolly’s brown and white pattern of her coat makes it appear like a map and adds to her cuteness.
Adoption fees for dogs are still $100, and this covers everything you need to get started on ownership, mandatory neuter/spay, microchip, de-worming, rabies shot, basic immunizations, check for heartworms, and the first vet visit, as well as an update on the type of dog, likes/dislikes, habits, and temperament.
Christmas is almost here, and you can buy a gift certificate from the shelter so that the recipient can choose their own pet. Cats are $50, but cats more than a year old can be had for a donation of your choosing.
The shelter still operates under the protective COVID-19 rules. You must call them at 334-567-3377 or email email@example.com for an application to adopt. When that has been approved, you can have a day for an appointment to visit/meet Dolly or any of the other pets you are interested in seeing.
If you were given a dog, it would cost a lot more than $100 to get all the items that are provided by the shelter, and from the shelter you will be saving a needy animal. God bless all the animal keepers.
Until next week,
The Dog Lover
