Union Square’s Neighbor of the Month: Sherry Shaw
Union Square’s meeting and Christmas celebration were one of a kind. Sweet tea and unsweetened tea were part of the celebration.
We missed Kenny Shaw; this was the first Christmas celebration without him. He always made our Christmas bright, even in the dark. I am sure some of us felt a little salty (sad) missing him, but our faithful Union Square residents (special ones, Terry and Shirley Ogle) and Coosa County officials, including the former ones, made the unsweetened tea sweet for everyone, especially Judge Dean and his wife, Jackie, who carries her sweetness everywhere she goes. Former sheriff Terry and Ran Wilson’s sugar is forever sweet.
Thank you, Mrs. Jodi McDade, Commissioner Unzell Kelley, Sheriff Howell, and Mr. Chad Odom for your presence and support. A short meeting was held. Sheriff Howell gave his report.
Johnny Schmidt took the door prize home, and Sherry Shaw was voted neighbor of the month.
We passed out Christmas gift bags to the home-bound and donated money to DHR for a needed cause.
Mrs. LaVerne Hannon wants to thank Union Square for her Christmas bag and said she is very grateful for Union Square neighbors.
The food and fellowship were excellent. We truly missed Mrs. Pat Windsor, a sweet faithful neighbor who lost her son, Eddie Windsor. That is why she was not in attendance. Our prayers and condolences are with her and the family. Special prayers to Angie and the children; Union Square loves you all.
Condolences are sent to the Shaw family in the loss of Mr. Sim Shaw, our friend and my classmate.
Help me pray for my grandson, Chesley, who encountered a car accident.
Let’s continue to pray for this world, Pastor Ivor and Lady Rochelle Smith, Rockford Church of God, and for all churches and unsaved souls.
Congratulations to our very own former New York Giants super star, Justin Tuck, for all his accomplishments in football and being inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Alabama loves you, Justin.
Happy birthday to all December babies.
