Special to the News
The Coosa County Farmers Federation, in conjunction with the Alabama Farmers Federation, proclaimed Alabama Farm-City Week to be November 19-25, with a theme of “Down to Earth – Agriculture Sustains Alabama.”
To bring attention to the many farmers that are so vital to our daily existence, the Coosa County Farmers Federation sponsored a Farm-City poster contest for students of Central Elementary School Coosa County in two different grade categories.
The poster winners for kindergarten-third grade were: first place, Delaney Reyes Lopez; second place, Adelynn Kairn; and third place, Ada-Mae Barnett.
The poster winners for fourth-sixth grades were: first place, Alex Latham; second place, Kaden Tindall; and third place, Lillie Kimbrell.
All poster entries remain on display at the Coosa County Courthouse, brightening the halls with the beautiful artwork and receiving compliments from all courthouse visitors.
The first place winning posters will also be submitted to the Alabama Farmers Federation to be judged with all first place winners across the state.
Students from Coosa Central did an outstanding job again this year, and the Farmers Federation expresses a special thanks to the teachers who make this project a part of their classroom curriculum each year.
