December 4
Goodwater Parks and Rec will host a community-wide Christmas tree decoration competition. First, second and third place winners will be recognized. Trees should be decorated and in place by December 4. For further information please contact Sharonna Hayes at 256-743-1252.

Poplar Point Camp will host WinterFest on Saturday, December 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This will be an indoor camp fundraiser festival. For more information, call 256-377-2606.

Equality Volunteer Fire Department will have its first Saturday fundraiser on December 4. They will have hamburgers, hot dogs, a bake sale, and rummage sale in Equality at the old fire station (by the Quality Gas Station) on Alabama Highway 9. Lunch available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bake sale starts at 8 a.m. Rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come out and help support your local VFD!
December 11
The Hanover Neighborhood Watch Christmas Party and meeting will be held from 3-6 p.m. December 11 at Rora Valley Farms on County Road 49. Join us for a fun evening of visiting with neighbors, games, singing Christmas carols, and food! Supper will be potluck, and you are encouraged to bring your favorite Christmas dish. Rora Valley Farms is home to the Sanders family (Noah Sanders being the current Neighborhood Watch president) and provides a great place for gathering with plenty of room for kids to play and people to sit and visit. Come for fellowship at 3 p.m. We will have our brief business meeting at 4 p.m. with meal to follow. Contact Noah Sanders at 334-750-0297 to RSVP and get directions to the farm.
Weekly
The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center is open to the public weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and practice days for the travel ball team are those same days from 5 to 6 p.m. Cheerleader practice is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. Quarterly
The Hanover Neighborhood Watch Meeting is held quarterly, typically on the third Tuesday of the month, at the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department building at 6:30 p.m. The spring meeting will be held the third Tuesday in March, the summer meeting on the third Tuesday in June, and the fall meeting on the third Tuesday in September. The winter meeting will be held in December, with the date to be determined at the fall meeting. Always a potluck meal before the meeting begins, and sometimes a special program to follow. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!
