A Selma woman was arrested earlier this month on multiple drug-related charges during a routine traffic stop.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on November 9 deputies Scott and Mitchell were on patrol in the area of Ray community when they conducted a traffic stop. Upon approaching, deputies smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The deputies searched the vehicle and found a 9-millimeter firearm, a bag of marijuana and a glass container used for smoking methamphetamine. Howell reported that the glass container also contained meth.
As a result of those discoveries, the driver, 34-year-old Sasha Pettway, was arrested the same day and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a concealed weapon without a permit, second-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Her total bond was set at $10,000. She has since been released on bond to await trial.
