Pet of the Week: Sarge
This is National Shelter Assistant Week. Oh, they do such a fabulous job and are super sweet with kind hearts. Sometimes it can be a messy job, especially if an animal is ill. Please remember to thank those at the shelter if you visit one this week; they are as loyal to the animals as pet dogs are for us.
The Pet of the Week featured and available for adoption from the Elmore County Humane Shelter is Sarge. Sarge is a 1-year-old male lab/husky mix at about 45 pounds. Sarge is a great dog, but not around young children, which is why he was brought to the shelter. Just super for an adults-only family.
Sarge is great with other dogs and cats, house trained and crate trained. A word from the shelter’s director, Rea Cord, “He is very photogenic.”
The shelter in Wetumpka still operates under COVID-19 regulations to be sure everyone and the animals stay safe. Please call first for an application; once approved, you will get an appointment to visit as many dogs as you like, including Sarge.
Dogs love these sunny days, so go for a walk in a park or the countryside and enjoy the weather together.
Until next time, enjoy your animals.
