Winners announced in PTO sponsored pumpkin decorating contest
The student body voted on the pumpkins submitted in the decorating contest. Winners in the ninth-twelfth grade from the left were Madison Jennings, Brooklyn Lee, Kamora Wilson, and Serenity Goolsby.
Winners in the seventh-eighth grade from the left were Tatum Larrabee, Alyssa Woodfin, Reese Lee, and Henley Jennings.
Congratulations to Central High School SGA’s newly elected president, Raamiah Gaddis
The Tuesday, November 2, broadcast of CBN (Cougar Broadcasting Network) included a special featuring the speeches of the SGA presidential candidates, Raamiah Gaddis and Brynli Mitchell. The speeches included the service the candidates have already provided to their school and community, the projects they would like to work on during their tenure and the legacy they would like to leave at Central High School. Congratulations to Raamiah Gaddis for being elected by the student body and staff at Central High School as SGA president for the 2021-2022 school year.
SGA presidential elections are held on the first Tuesday in November, Election Day. Students Lexie Griffin and Makenna Sanders show off their ” I Voted ” stickers.
Central Coosa Schools vaccine clinic
Mr. James Hardin; MSc, BSN, RN, NE-BC; from the Alabama Public Health Department in collaboration with the Central Coosa nursing staff; Mrs. Celeste Thornton, RN, and Mrs. Beverly Hay, LPN; held a vaccine clinic for the staff of Coosa County Schools. Staff members had the option of receiving flu shots, initial COVID-19 vaccines, as well as COVID-19 booster shots.
Student drivers add personalization to their parking spots
Student drivers weathered the cold and dreary conditions Saturday morning to personalize their parking spots. Students are always excited for this event, competing to be the first one at the school Saturday morning to claim the coveted front parking spots.
Seniors are honored at the last football game of the season
Senior football players Trae Butler and Braylon McKinney; band members Lexie Griffin, Brody Hyatt and Parker Sanders; and cheerleaders Brynli Mitchell and Tynesha Strong, their classmates, family, and friends celebrated the last football game of the season with special senior night events. Football players, band members and cheerleaders were treated to dinner before the game in honor of their senior members. The cheerleaders made a special run-through sign to celebrate our seniors. The pre-game ceremony honored the seniors as they were escorted by their families on the field. The ceremony was capped off with a fireworks display to celebrate the special night. The student section cheered on our team as they took the win against TC Central 60-20.
