The Town of Rockford held a fall decorating contest and invited individuals and businesses alike to decorate their yard, porch, or front of their business with their best fall ideas.
All residents, businesses and groups within the Rockford town limits were eligible to participate. Prizes were to be awarded for first through third place.
Those who participated had their decorations judged last Thursday, October 28. Winners were announced Saturday during Rockford’s Trick-or-Treat on Main Street.
First place was awarded to the Coosa County Courthouse for the various fall-themed decorations along the front of the courthouse on U.S. Highway 231, including scarecrows, skeletons roasting marshmallows, pumpkins, mums, and more.
Second place went to local resident Kris Rambo for her “house divided” themed fall decorations, featuring scarecrows decked out in their finest Auburn and Alabama gear. The decorations also included festive pumpkins and plants.
Third place was awarded to the Coosa County Department of Human Resources for their beautiful fall décor featuring mums, pumpkins, hay bales, corn stalks, miniature scarecrows, and a decorated fence.
First place received a $30 gift card, second place a $25 gift card and third place a $20 gift card.
The Town of Rockford thanks everyone who participated in this year’s fall decorating contest. Residents are encouraged to stay tuned for information regarding the town’s upcoming holiday decorating contest, which will also include awarding prizes to the top winners.
