The Coosa County 4-H is hosting a poinsettia sale as a seasonal fundraiser for the organization and the youth of Coosa County.
The fundraiser comes just in time for individuals and businesses alike to be able to decorate for the holidays using the poinsettias. It also gives people the opportunity to buy them as gifts while helping local youth.
Plants will be 8-inch red poinsettias for $15 each, and the plants are grown in Montgomery. They will include three pinched plants with a minimum of 12 blooms and will be 21-25 inches high, including a pot wrapped in foil.
All proceeds from the poinsettia sale will be used for needs in the local 4-H programs, including providing snacks and activity supplies for the 4-H after school clubs and sponsoring 4-H youth competing at regional and state events.
Orders can be turned in at the Coosa County Extension Office in Rockford, with orders due November 10. Poinsettias can then be picked up at the Extension Office November 22.
For more information on the 4-H poinsettia sale, contact 4-H Agent Janet Lovelady at 256-377-4713 or 256-284-3572.
