A Childersburg man was arrested earlier this month on drug-related charges following a traffic stop.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on October 5 Cpl. Mike Rudd was on patrol when he conducted a traffic stop in the Weogufka area near Palmer Road. Deputy Bradberry arrived on the scene to assist with the Sheriff’s Office K9 unit.
The K9 was deployed and alerted on the vehicle. Deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle which led to finding drug paraphernalia, a syringe that had narcotics inside it and a firearm.
The driver, 36-year-old Clinton Johns of Childersburg, was arrested and charged with possession of a pistol by a felon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His total bond for all three charges was set at $17,500, and he has since been released on bond to await trial.
