A Montgomery man was arrested late last month on two charges, including arson, after allegedly damaging a victim’s property.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on August 27, Deputy Ward responded to Alabama Highway 259 in reference to a fire. The victim on the scene stated that Timothy Lee Jones was breaking windows of a residence and trying to start fires, with the victim’s vehicle being on fire at the time.
Ward proceeded to detain Jones, 40 years old of Montgomery, while he conducted an investigation. The investigation linked Jones to starting the vehicle fire and breaking windows of the residence.
Jones was arrested the same day and charged with second-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief.
His total bond was set at $15,000, and he has since been released on bond to await trial.
