End of our empire

Give me Liberty
Rodger Williamson
“Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government, those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.” – so said one Mr. Thomas Jefferson in 1778 in his “Bill for the More General Diffusion of Knowledge.”
Writer Jeff Thomas once laid out in an article for “International Man” the steps which would lead to the collapse of an empire. Regardless whether the Persian, Roman, Spanish, French, or British empires, the Soviet Union, or the presently collapsing Empire of the United States of America, they all have followed these steps:
1. The reach of government leaders habitually exceeds their grasp.
2. Dramatic expansion (generally through warfare) is undertaken without a clear plan as to how that expansion is to be financed.
3. The population is overtaxed as the bills for expansion become due, without consideration as to whether the population can afford increased taxation.
4. Heavy taxation causes investment by the private sector to diminish, and the economy begins to decline.
5. Costs of goods rise, without wages keeping pace.
6. Tax revenue declines as the economy declines (due to excessive taxation). Taxes are increased again, in order to top up government revenues.
7. Despite all the above, government leaders personally hoard as much as they can, further limiting the circulation of wealth in the business community.
8. Governments issue bonds and otherwise borrow to continue expansion, with no plan as to repayment.
9. Dramatic authoritarian control is instituted to assure that the public continues to comply with demands, even if those demands cannot be met by the public.
10. Economic and social collapse occurs, often marked by unrest and riots, the collapse of the economy and the exit of those who are productive.
11. In this final period, the empire turns on itself, treating its people as the enemy.
Alexander Tytler Bondage listed as a repeating cycle “From Spiritual Faith to Courage. From Courage to Liberty. From Liberty to Abundance. From Abundance to Selfishness. From Selfishness to Complacency. From Complacency to Apathy. From Apathy to Dependence. And from Dependence, back to Spiritual Faith,” and more simply put, G. Michael Hopf (1970- ) summed the repeating cycle as, “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
Here now, we find ourselves as citizens of these United States led by a government that is following the very exact same steps toward its eventual collapse.
COVID-19 is a real virus, and yes, many people have unfortunately died from it, but with survival rates for all ages at 99% (+), the numbers do not add up to the corresponding hype and draconian over-reach by authorities.
Mandates are NOT the answer. Mandates defy the presumption of liberty and freedom that every American is born with. A fabric face mask will NOT prevent contamination from a “virus.” A virus is so small that it will travel straight through a mask.
In addition, a virus can contaminate through one’s eyes, and no one has (yet) mandated full face shields for all. And the “vaccine” being pushed is not an actual vaccine, but a DNA treatment that, despite recent FDA approval, has no long-term testing. As a former NBC (nuclear, biological and chemical) NCO (non-commissioned officer) for my unit when I was in the U.S. Army, I am not worried about COVID-19 and will not be worried until I see response teams across the nation in full hazmat suits.
Until that time, I shall rely on my immune system, while encouraging each and every one of you to make an educated choice that best suits your personal circumstances, without demanding that everyone else make the same choice that you decided was best for you.
Our national debt is currently screaming past $28.6 trillion, an absolutely unsustainable amount of debt, and nearly every politician in our federal government is bipartisanly working together to add even more debt, so long as they can bring funds to their pet project, the taxpayer be damned.
Our Empire of these United States grew out of the wars of the 20th Century. According to Global Firepower, the U.S. military has 2,141,900 total personnel and 1,218,900 active-duty personnel. Its air power, land strength and naval strength are among the top in the world with 13,298 total aircraft (the most of any country) and 415 total naval assets. That’s on top of 6,287 tanks, 1,056 rocket projectors and 39,223 armored fighting vehicles.
The United States has approximately 800 formal military bases in 80 countries, and our current withdrawal from our 20-year war in Afghanistan, a disparate group of goat herders have completely laid to waste any semblance of order that may have once been assumed.
These are just a few of many tyrannies that are simply modern variations of some of the tyrannies enumerated within our Declaration of Independence.
You were born free. You are now either free, or you are not. If you are not free, you are beholden to the will of another. If you are beholden to the will of another, you are a slave. … Stay free, and always demand freedom, no matter what the circumstances are.
