Bibb Graves Community Center in Millerville will have Trade Day Saturday, August 21, from 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Great merchandise inside the old school at the Shoppes of Millerville. Free vendor set up outside for items you want to sell. Food items available for sell inside.
August 25
Solutions Healthcare will be hosting a free drive-through COVID-19 Clinic Wednesday, August 25, from 7 a.m.-12 p.m. All three COVID-19 tests will be available: Moderna, Janesan, and Pfizer. Vaccines will be offered to ages 12 and older. Parents must provide a date of birth and social security number for children under 18 years of age. This clinic will be held at the Goodwater City Hall water works building on Alabama Highway 9. Shots will be given in the vehicle, so please park and stay in your vehicle.

The Coosa County Board of Education will hold its first budget hearing for the Fiscal Year 2022 on August 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Coosa County Board of Education, 73 Nixburg Road, Rockford.

The Coosa County Board of Education will hold its second budget hearing for the Fiscal Year 2022 on September 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Coosa County Board of Education, 73 Nixburg Road, Rockford.
September 15
Holmestead Farm Muscadine Tour: Alabama Cooperative Extension System will have a walking tour discussing muscadine production at Holmestead Farm in Clay County. This farm is in Clay County, but has a Talladega County address of 6582 County Road 7, Talladega. Alabama Cooperative Extension Regional agents Chip East and Dani Carroll will lead the tour. The topics for discussion include planting, pruning, training, trellising, and proper management practices of muscadines. Please call the Clay County Extension office at 256-354-5976 by Monday, September 13, to register. There is no registration fee, but it helps to know how many will be attending. This will be a very educational meeting for commercial producers, as well as home fruit growers. Scam Alert Workshop: Protecting our Senior Citizens from Financial Fraud
Two financial fraud workshops will be held on September 17. The workshops will be presented by Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) Ray Cook with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to educate citizens of Alabama (Coosa County residents) against the best defense against financial fraud. The first presentation will be in Rockford at the Rockford Baptist Church Family Life Center on September 17 at 10 a.m. The second presentation will be in Goodwater at the Goodwater Senior Center on September 17 at 2 p.m. This event is sponsored by First Bank, Coosa County Extension Office, Hatchett Springs Worship Center, Rockford Baptist Church, and Sardis Baptist Church. Wearing a facemask is encouraged at these events.

The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center is open to the public weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and practice days for the travel ball team are those same days from 5 to 6 p.m. Cheerleader practice is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Hanover Neighborhood Watch Meeting is held every third Tuesday of the month at the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department building at 6:30 p.m. Always a meal before the meeting begins. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!
