Blessed by giving neighbors

Union Square wishes all July babies a happy birthday, especially our very own Mrs. Lena Johnston, from her sister, Mrs. Patsy Johnston, and her daughters, Karen and Kathy.

Birthday wishes also go to Mrs. Violet McVey, Jason Hill, Ida Tuset, and in memory of my godson Rowan Clarke on July 17. I miss him more each day and all the phone calls checking on me to see if I am OK, never asking for anything, but always giving.

We have some neighbors in Union Square who are always giving, especially at harvest time, and some who are distant neighbors. We love you, and we appreciate you more than you will ever know – Mr. Aaron Riggins, Pastor Michael Edwards, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Taylor, Mr. George L. Alexander, and Mr. Levi Leonard. We feel refreshed again with all the fresh vegetables coming our way. It reminds me of the good old days when neighbors shared their love in giving. One thing that is missing now is sharing the bacon and ham. No more killing hogs around (haha). But we are happy for the vegetables. Thank you, thank you, and thank you again.

“Forgiveness” is a big word and a small gesture. However, it is hard for some to forgive; just a small simple “I’m sorry,” “I apologize,” “Forgive me,” and truly mean it from the heart. It can make a very big deal in someone’s life, including ourselves. I say to Ms. Crystal Glenn and Ms. Christa Jennings, I do apologize for the mistake. “Forgive me” and know that I mean it, from the bottom of my heart. I love you both, and I pray that you will accept my apology. You encouraged me to be more alert before I speak.

Thank you, Christa, for helping me to stay on the narrow path, because sometimes I can get a little too much on the broad path, too outspoken and too open minded. Christa is a very wise and smart young lady, and she uses her knowledge where it belongs and not just anywhere; she is a real godly lady.

Prayer list: Mr. Mike Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Taylor’s grandbaby, Mr. Fred Muenzmay, and Mrs. Carrie Tuck.

“God is a secure safe deposit for our faith.”

It was a joy seeing Daniel and Bessie Robinson. I love you guys.
