Anderson Foundation formed to help grieving families

Following the heartbreaking loss of her son because of suicide, one woman has decided to start a nonprofit foundation to help other grieving families who experience similar losses.
Sylvia Anderson was born and raised in Coosa County, and she also raised her son, Dale Anderson, in Coosa. Numerous family members still live in the Rockford area.
Anderson recalls that on April 8, 2019, they celebrated her son’s thirty-sixth birthday. On Saturday, April 13, 2019, she said he came home and stayed the night with her.
The following morning, she fixed him breakfast, but for some reason he did not eat.
“Looking back, I should have known that something was heavy on his mind because he never missed a meal,” Anderson said. “Sadly, on Monday, April 15, he took his own life.”
“Every day I ask myself, ‘God, why? What did I miss? We talked almost every day. Why didn’t I see he was headed in this direction?’” she added.
Losing a child is something that a parent will never get over, Anderson shares.
“It is always close to your heart, and that pain I will carry with me for life,” she said. “The memories I have bring me back to the light on my bad days, and then come the tears which take me back to the darkness and sadness.”
Anderson said that she often looks at heaven and thinks, “Lord, if I could build a stairway with the memories and love from the 36 years I had with Dale, I would. If I could walk into heaven and bring my son home, I would.”
To honor her son’s life and memory, she decided to start a foundation to help families who are having hard times. Therefore, she said it is with a heavy heart but with love that she starts the Dale Anderson Foundation.
The foundation is set up for families who are grieving with the loss of a loved one and struggling with the loss of a loved one.
This foundation will assist other grieving families by helping them cover the costs for such an unexpected and tragic situation. Preferably, the foundation is intended to primarily surround grieving families who have lost a loved one through suicide, since this is how Anderson’s son left this world.
It is a non-profit foundation, and all money donated to the foundation will go directly to other families in their time of suffering.
The Dale Anderson Foundation was opened at Wells Fargo Bank, and the foundation account number is 7647907901.

“I know there are family, friends and even strangers with loving caring hearts who have any amount of love offerings to offer,” Anderson says. “I am openly appreciative for any amount that could be spared, donated and given in order to help another family. I am constantly down on my knees praying for the up-building of the foundation and its success. I would like to say thank you in advance.”
