Summer of abundance
I was buzzing over town Saturday afternoon and just noticed how abundant the local wildlife is this year. Lots of cats and rats in town and lots of rabbits and squirrels in the woods. Makes an old buzzard optimistic about the future.
Yes, this is the summer of abundance when it comes to grass, mushrooms, bees, and flowers. Cruising over the weekend, I saw a wilderness woman foraging for chanterelle mushrooms. She took them home and cooked them for her vegan houseguests.
Rockford is amazing if you know where to look. I am enjoying being your eye in the sky. And using “The News” to keep you informed.
