A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10 a.m. Monday, July 5, has claimed the life of a Montgomery juvenile.
The juvenile was fatally injured when a 2007 Ford Five Hundred, driven by 36-year-old Talitha Smith of Montgomery, swerved off the roadway to the right, struck a sign and overturned.
The juvenile passenger was not properly restrained and was ejected from the vehicle, causing fatal injuries. The juvenile was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Chilton County, where the youth was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65, near the 216 mile marker, approximately two miles south of Jemison in Chilton County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
