Kudos to Summer Fest volunteers, organizers
Hard to realize that this is July Fourth weekend. Let’s hope the forecasters will be wrong about the plentiful rainfall each day, and let folks enjoy some fun and fireworks. The fireworks will be going off at many places, so be sure and put the animals away for this loud stuff; many of them are so afraid.
Rockford was blessed with beautiful weather for their first Summer Fest last Saturday. It does a local country living person so much good to be able to come out for a small town festival in the south. The local/city volunteers worked hard getting it all put together, with so many things that must be done close to starting time. Let’s hope those in charge will retain the energy to organize another Summer Fest for Rockford in 2022.
“Woman’s Day” says that June 29 was Lipstick Day; hope you ladies managed to come out of your mask and wear a pretty lipstick color.
All the very best “get well” wishes go out to Wayne Stephens. He and wife, Neta, live on Alabama Highway 9 at the Coosa/Elmore line; it has been one year now since his accident that injured in his back garden on a fun riding machine that caused his severe spinal injury. Wayne is able to sit out on the back porch and enjoy what nature provides each day. Wayne gets therapy and visits from home health nurses. It is so important that home patients develop a good rapport with their caregivers; it does help with the wellness, and gives all concerned a visit to look forward to getting. I love my home health nurse and look forward to her weekly visits, when she takes good care of me. I still get IV nourishment for 12 hours overnight and have a great doctor checking on me, as well.
Yes, The Church in the Pines at Children’s Harbor will be provided again this July 4. The speaker will be the well-admired John Ed Mathison from 9-9:45 a.m. John Ed is the founder of John Ed Mathison Leadership Ministries in Montgomery. Go out for the speaker and get a great start to the celebrations of July 4, your Independence Day.
I understand Sylacauga will be putting on a big show with fireworks on Friday evening after 8:30 p.m., and after that, Wetumpka will have another celebration on Saturday with a soulful band from 6-8 p.m., and then fireworks.
Birthday wishes go to Patti Granger, and if you have the chance, please have an ice cream for me.
This is a wonderful quote from Lady Stella Reading, and I work hard to practice this every day, because it truly works. “The whole point about getting things done is knowing what to leave alone.” – Lady Stella Reading.
Until next week, keep smiling
