By Christa Jennings
Ashley Kilgore
A Sylacauga woman was recently arrested on two charges, one of which related to an altered firearm.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on May 31 Cpl. Mike Rudd was patrolling County Road 29 when he encountered a vehicle typically driven by an individual for whom they have warrants.
Rudd turned around and attempted to stop the vehicle. However, the driver fled from the patrol car and went to a house.
The vehicle was found, and Rudd discovered an altered firearm and drug paraphernalia in plain view next to the driver’s purse.
The driver, 23-year-old Ashley Kilgore of Sylacauga, was arrested and charged with possession of an altered firearm and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Her total bond was set at $7,000, and she has since been released on bond to await trial.
