Kitten season is here
Pet of the Week: Sandy
This week’s feature from the Elmore County Humane Shelter is a lovely kitten named Sandy, a 3-month-old male raised in a foster home; and must be an inside kitty only. Sandy’s coloring is really like buff sand, and he has lovely grey eyes, that say, “Please take me home.” Sandy loves toys, just adores children and is quite a cuddle bug.
Kitten season this year seems to have stormed in late, so there are plenty of cats from which to choose. The Elmore County shelter intake has received 739 cats/kittens since January 1, with the highest intake month being May, when 475 were newly housed at the shelter. Of all the intake numbers, 475 were kittens under 6 months.
If you are interested in a kitten at this big feline inventory time, you either call the shelter at 334-567-3377 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application, and things move quickly once the application is approved.
Adoption fees are $50 for cats, and this includes mandatory spay/neuter and all basic immunizations you need to bring that kitten/cat right on home. Dogs are still $100 and cover all immunizations, microchip, rabies vaccine if old enough, the mandatory spay/neuter, and heartworm check.
Love your pets and be sure they have a shady place to rest.
Until the next time,
The Dog Lover
