Neighborhood Watch meetings continuing
Union Square Neighborhood Watch meetings are still in operation as Kenny would want us to continue. His wife, Sherry, and daughter, Robin, are keeping Kenny’s legacy alive with the help of his son, Neal, although grieving and going to the grave to visit their dad and husband. We are all still coping with the help of the good Lord.
Union Square’s new treasurer, Mrs. Susan Rogers, presented Sherry with a beautiful plaque with Kenny’s picture and an inscription of his faithful work in the Square. Mrs. Rogers is doing a great job in her new role as treasurer and sharing needed and good information for everyone.
We miss former treasurer, Carol Mullendore, who worked very faithfully. She and her husband, Jeff, both were faithful members, but had to move on.
We truly appreciate all of the grateful, strong men and women of Coosa County. We cannot say enough about Rockford Mayor Scott White. He is doing a wonderful job in Rockford and is a hard working soldier.
Mayor White once saved my life some years ago while working with the Richville Volunteer Fire Department. I will never forget that day. Thank you, Mayor Scott White.
Also, a thank you to the Buffalo Soldiers, N.A.B.S.T.M.C, of Coosa, Clay, Talladega, Tallapoosa, and Lee counties. Bravo to all of you!
Congratulations to the seniors of Central High School Coosa County and to all graduates elsewhere.
Congratulations to Coosa County Sheriff Michael Howell who graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation on May 21. Howell is the only sheriff or chief in the state of Alabama to attend this course training.
Christa Jennings and Crystal Glenn are doing such great work for the Coosa County’s newspaper despite the work that is currently being done at the newspaper’s building. Readers and writers, just have a little patience please; it should be finished soon.
I received one of the sweetest special phone calls from a dear lady from Hollywood, actress Pauley Perrett, formerly of NCIS. We had a beautiful conversation. My eyes were filled with tears of joy to hear her speak of the things she was grateful for. Her dad, the deceased Paul Perrett, and her mom, Ruby Perrett, whom we share the same names with, were at the top of her list. She also loves to read my columns in “The Coosa County News.”
I learned much from Pauley. She is a very special lady, and we will stay in contact. I love you, Pauley, and I will always keep you in my prayers.
I love you, too, Carrie, and I miss seeing you and Carmon.
Happy wedding anniversary to Mr. Ashberry and Mrs. Vicke Scott on June 24, 32 years of love and prayers by Pastor Earlie Leonard, who married them. I said to Vickie, “You and Scott will never break loose because Pastor Leonard put you two together.” (smile) I wish you many more to come.
Happy birthday to Pastor Earlie Leonard and to all June babies. Happy birthday in memory to my dear mother, Beatrice, on June 20.
Happy wedding anniversary to Pastor and Lady Kenny McDonald on June 1, 59 years bonded in love.
Prayers go up for all ill and unhappy people that they will find peace and joy.
