The Goodwater Library’s Summer Program starts on June 1 and continues every Tuesday in June. The theme this summer is “Tails and Tales.” The program is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the library. On June 8 Coosa Extension will present the program; June 15 will be Alabama Archives; and on June 29 Annette Bohannon will present the program.

The Summer Reading Program sponsored by the Rockford Public Library will be held on Mondays from June 7 through July 19 at 2 p.m. Specific dates are: June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 12, and July 19. Rockford Summer Fest will be held Saturday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Rockford! The event will include a variety of vendors, food trucks/food vendors, inflatable wet slide, bounce house, carnival games with prizes, watermelon seed spitting contest, dunking booth, and face painting. The Hanover Junior High School reunion will be held once again! The time is Saturday, June 26, in the fellowship hall at Andrew’s Chapel Methodist Church in Hanover. Visiting will begin at 5 p.m., and our covered dish meal will begin at 6 p.m. See you there!

The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center is open to the public weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and practice days for the travel ball team are those same days from 5 to 6 p.m. Cheerleader practice is held on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Hanover Neighborhood Watch Meeting is held every third Tuesday of the month at the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department building at 6:30 p.m. Always a meal before the meeting begins. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!
