Sylacauga man arrested on drug charges
By Christa Jennings
Lyle Cleveland
A Sylacauga man was arrested last month on three drug-related charges following a routine traffic stop.
On May 6, Cpl. Mike Rudd was on patrol when he initiated a traffic stop. He made contact with the driver, 32-year-old Lyle Cleveland, and detected the odor of marijuana.
Rudd conducted a search of the vehicle and found marijuana in Cleveland’s vehicle. Additionally, he also located a methamphetamine pipe in the vehicle.
Cleveland was then placed under arrest and transported to the Coosa County Jail. There, a thorough search led to locating methamphetamine on him.
That led to Cleveland being arrested on a total of three charges, possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree possession of marijuana.
His total bond for all three charges was set at $9,000. He has since been released on bond to await trial.
