The Goodwater Youth Development and Recreational Center, or GYDRC, started its summer camp program Tuesday, June 1.
Campers spent the first day filled with enriching activities.
GYDRC still has space for more campers to join. Registration ends on June 11, and this summer camp program is open to all children ages 4 to 16.
This summer camp program includes breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Each week campers will be provided with enrichment activities, sports and field trips. The center provides transportation to and from these field trip activities, which include swimming, bowling and skating.
GYDRC is currently offering several other recreational activities. These include travel basketball, football and cheerleading.
The center is currently seeking coaches for soccer, volleyball and track and field.
The gymnasium is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week.
Anyone interested in registration for the summer camp program or any of the other recreational activities currently being offered should contact Sharonna Hayes, director, at 256-743-1252.
