By Christa Jennings
The Town of Rockford is gearing up for Summer Fest to be held later this month, and plans are well underway for the event.
Summer Fest will be held in downtown Rockford Saturday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Festivities include a variety of vendors, food trucks, carnival games with prizes, cotton candy, watermelon seed spitting contest, wet slide, bounce house, the live band Bonfire, and more.
Numerous vendors and nonprofits have already registered for the event. However, the town still needs more vendors.
Anyone interested in getting a space for Summer Fest can contact Town Clerk Jennifer Tindall at 256-377-4911 for more information and to register. Booth rentals are $25 per space.

The wet slide and bounce house for Summer Fest have been sponsored by Sheriff Michael Howell and the Sheriff’s Office.
Live entertainment will also be part of the festivities, with Bonfire starting to perform at 1 p.m.
Similar to what the town did for the Christmas parade, bags will be given to children to collect their candy and prizes from the various carnival games.
Businesses and individuals were able to donate a sponsorship fee to have their names printed on the bags. The Summer Fest sponsors are Stage Coach Ceramics and Gifts, ALFA insurance agent Tasha Howell, Exit Royal Realty, Coosa County Extension Office, CEH Farms LLC., A&V Handyman Services, Mallory B. Whitley Law LLC., John K.
