Men arrested for breaking, entering vehicles

Two men – one from Coosa County and one from Tallapoosa County – were recently arrested on theft charges after allegedly breaking into vehicles in the Ray community.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that the Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Ray community pertaining to individuals allegedly stealing catalytic converters from vehicles in the area.
The caller was further able to provide a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Deputies were able to locate the vehicle, along with suspects Brandon Broaderway and Andrew Jones.
Upon further investigation, both were arrested on May 5. Both individuals were charged with unlawful breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and third-degree theft of property.
The total bond for each of them was set at $7,500.
Broaderway, 28 years old of Alexander City, has since been released on bond to await trial. As of press time Jones, 26 years old of Goodwater, remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
