CHS Class of 2021 graduates
You could see smiles on everyone’s faces last Thursday evening as Central High School Coosa County seniors took their places on the field at Keith Bullard Stadium for the 2021 commencement ceremony. Seniors were led in by the Central Honor Guard and teachers Mrs. McDonald and Mrs. White.
Assistant Principal Rodrick James welcomed everyone, Mrs. Anitra Belyeu sang the national anthem, and SGA president Tytiuna Isom led the “Pledge of Allegiance” and words of thanks.
Words of inspiration and congratulations were provided by Superintendent of Education David Stover, Salutatorian Kera Dunham and Valedictorian Olivia Hay.
Students were recognized for their achievements, including Top 10 graduates, Career Tech Completers, Military Enlistees, and Scholarship Recipients. Principal Brandi Lee was joined by Superintendent Stover and Assistant Principal James in awarding the seniors their diplomas.
Special thanks to CHS counselor Misty Wade for organizing the graduation ceremony.

Last week, chemistry and physical science performed a scientific reasoning lab.
In part, this was a lab to review concepts learned throughout the year using the scientific method and lab techniques. It was also an identification lab. The students had to determine what an unknown substance was using samples and indicators.
Pictured are Mrs. White’s chemistry students Kiya McGinnis, Brynli Mitchell, Lexie Griffin, Ja’Myia Marbury, and Parker Sanders.
