Remember shelter thrift store when spring cleaning
Pet of the Week: Duke
I know you thought the dog this week may be a large redbone. No, but his name is Duke just the same, which can be changed if you choose. The pet of the week, Duke, is a 10-month-old male at about 50 pounds with beautiful coloring, making him such a cute boy. He is an active boy that would love a big yard in which to romp, lots of long walks, or could even become a great running partner. He is a fun-loving dog, playful, great with children, dogs and cats. So, he’s just the all-around perfect pick for a dog needing family, maybe yours.
The Elmore County Humane Shelter in Wetumpka has a current total of pets to care for as of this week, numbering 267. I hope you can open your hearts so that the shelter can be thinned out a little.
Please remember ‘Tails End Thrift Store accepts your clean saleable item as a donation. Whether that is clothing, shoes, animal supplies, decorator items, furniture, jewelry, and almost anything you have that works; plus books and the audio books, as well. Just if you are spring cleaning now that the season has arrived (finally) do remember that the Tails End takes goods Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 to noon, while the thrift store opens at 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on those same days. All of that at the donation location on the other end of the parking lot to the animal shelter is run by sweet volunteers. Please help if you can.
Dog adoptions are $100, and you will still need to complete the application form before a visit can be set to see them. You can see as many animals as you wish, including Duke.
Until next week,
The Dog Lover
