Honoring veteran Robert Moon
Union Square Neighborhood Watch meeting is on Monday, May 3. Please come out and let’s honor Union Square’s former President Kenny Shaw in sweet memories of his birthday on May 7.
The beauty of living twice is Kenny Shaw Sr. “Happy Birthday, Kenny.” Union Square will always love you.
It has been some weeks now since the home-going of veteran Mr. Robert James Moon, but circumstances came about to delay the honoring of this great veteran of Coosa County and the father of Coosa County Deputy Cpl. Bradgel Moon, who is one of Coosa County’s great men in law enforcement and who serves very well.
Mr. Robert Moon and his wife, Mrs. Mazelle Shaw Moon, and I were classmates and friends in school. Robert was a cool, sharp and neat dresser with a lot of style and class. He carried himself very well and respectfully, which is why he stood out. Mazelle stood and waited for him until October 30, 1976, and kept him for 44 years (smile).
We do honor this man today who served our country well! We will honor him with our purple hearts today. Our hearts are heavy and filled with sadness, especially for his wife and family, but we must move on and say, “Thank you, Robert, for serving our country and serving our Lord to the highest.” We will miss him, and our prayers go to Deputy Bradgel Moon, with much sympathy.
Let’s continue to pray for our country and the world.
We are sorry to hear about the death of Mrs. Minnie Lee Traylor Edwards.
Happy birthday to Brenda Riggins and all May babies.
“Dying is living again.”
“The enthusiasm with which we worship God reveals the depth of our relationship with Him.”
