The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
Lots of possibility
Can buzzards even sigh? I will leave that open to discussion. It sure is hard to be a witty and passionate spokes-bird in a town where we are always just waiting for something to happen.
I mean, I mentioned a lot of possibles last week, but…now I feel like the empty rocking chairs on main street. Set out in front of a building that has a business that never opened. Empty buildings, with a coat of paint or a mural here or there. Lots of possibility, only a little bit of action.
A lot of traffic, though, with the Talladega fans last week and the Thunder Beach bikes this week. I hope the new police chief is busy filling the town coffers! The worst thing possible, somebody rolling through the 4-way at 50, seems to have happened more than once in my lifetime. And that is way too many times.
Nobody ever ‘fessed up to damaging the gas pump. But it is working again.
It won’t be long before the beautiful Cahaba lilies will be blooming. Hatchet Creek has more of those durned things than the Cahaba River ever thought to have. So, hopefully, some creek floaters will be through town. Has anyone ever cleaned up the take-out spot near King’s Bridge? There is a worthy project! That ought to be a county park for as many people that use it, or used to use it, before the STORM last April. This needs looking into I am warning, y’all!
I’ll be your eye in the sky, but I can’t get out and cut limbs or pick up trash.
Love,
Buzzy
