Pet of the Week: Big Jack
The Elmore County Pet of the Week at the shelter is a very LARGE boy indeed. His name suits him, as it is “Big Jack,” and he is definitely a big boy at about 85 pounds. Big Jack is a lab/mastiff mix and is 6 years old and one awesome dog. He will pull like a bull elephant on a leash, so be forewarned. As they often say at the shelter, he’s a lot of dog! Once he blows off some energy, he calms down and is really a great dog. Jack knows “sit” and loves attention. He has lived around children. Unsafe with cats, and with dogs it is suggested that they be females only please.
The same COVID-19 regulations apply, so if you’d like to visit with Big Jack or another dog, you need to complete the application. Once approved, you will be granted an appointment to visit. The fee for dogs, even one as large as Big Jack, is $100 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, basic vaccinations, deworming, rabies shot, heartworm check, and a vet visit.
You may call the shelter at 334-567-3377 or email them at hselco@bellsouth.net.
Until next time,
The Dog Lover
