Special to the News
By Sharon Haynes, Coosa County Extension coordinator
Coosa County Extension Office knows it is time to start getting back into normalcy of life.
Are you ready to start having and participating in events, festivals, fundraisers, etc.? If so, you will want to participate in this upcoming workshop to teach you how to do it safely.
Cooking Safe for the Crowd is a workshop designed to provide county event planners/organizers, event sponsors (town hall, city leaders), faith-based organizations with special event committee, kitchen staff/volunteers, youth groups, etc. with food safety updates.
Participants will also receive information regarding when and how to acquire special event food permits for local/countywide festivals and events. The training will include COVID-19 food safety educational guidelines.
Training will take place Thursday, April 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the E-911 Building (66 Communication Drive) in Rockford.
Seating is limited. Therefore, we ask that you or a designee from your organization attend.
To register, call the Coosa County Extension Office at 256-377-4713 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Registration deadline is April 20. There is no fee to participate.
If you have questions, contact Sharon Haynes, Coosa County Extension coordinator, or Dani Reams, Food Safety Regional Extension agent, at 256-377-4713.
