Kellyton to host Christmas Celebration
By Christa Jennings
The Town of Kellyton will once again be hosting the Kellyton Christmas Celebration this year after the event was canceled last year.
During Tuesday evening’s meeting of the Town Council, members unanimously approved having the event this year. The Christmas Celebration will be from 5 to 8 p.m. December 4.
While intended to be an annual event, the celebration was canceled last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The town has had numerous people ask about the celebration, and so it is excited to have it again.
The event will include games for the youth, a gift shop with vendors selling Christmas decorations and gifts and a sweet shop with an assortment of baked goods and homemade fried apple pies.
Additionally, door prizes will be given away throughout the evening, and the jolly elf himself, Santa Claus, will arrive at 6 p.m. for photos and visiting with the youth.
The celebration will also include refreshments such as hot dogs, chips, coffee, hot cocoa, and apple cider.
Vendor booth spaces are available for $10 per space or $15 per space if electricity is needed. To rent a booth space and be added to the vendors’ list, contact Town Clerk Karen Keel at 256-786-1703 or contact them through the Town of Kellyton Facebook page.
The next regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Kellyton Town Council will be held at 6 p.m. May 4.
