Stallions pleads not guilty
By Crystal Glenn
On February 18, Joe Daniel Stallions appeared at the Coosa County Courthouse for his arraignment.
He was indicted by a grand jury in early February for two counts of capital murder related to the 1999 double homicide of his mother, Bobby Dale Ingram, and sister, Jodi Stallions.
The murders of Ingram and Stallions occurred on January 12, 1999, at their home just south of Rockford on U.S. Highway 231.
After 21 years of the case remaining cold Sheriff Michael Howell reported that there had been new evidence that surfaced leading to Stallions’ arrest on August 12, 2020.
Since his arrest, Stallions has remained at the Coosa County jail with no bond set. At his arraignment in February, Stallions pleaded “not guilty.”
His next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. April 28 at the Coosa County Courthouse.
