Special to the News

Are you looking for something exciting and fun for your child this summer? An opportunity for them to make tons of great friends and memories?

Well, 4-H Summer Camp is the place to be!

Alabama 4-H Summer Camp is for youth ages 9-14. Camp session for Coosa County youth is June 7-9, at the 4-H Center in Columbiana.

Camp is an adventure-packed three days and two nights of activities, lodging in dorms or cabins, six delicious meals and canteen snacks. Youth can participate in a wide variety of activities, including swinging, swimming, racing, nature watching, etc.

Campers will have a lot of fun and develop great leadership skills and lasting friendships. This event will follow all of the CDC guidelines and safety precautions for COVID-19.

Parents may register their child through Alabama 4-H online by using the link v2.4honline.com to access and login to create an account.

Not a 4-H member? Enroll today by going to v2.4honline.com to join 4-H. Please use Google Chrome to access the link. Please note that Internet Explorer will not work.

This year, summer camp fees are only $50 per child. Through sponsorships and donations, we are able to reduce the regular cost of $150 to $50.

The $50 includes three days/two nights lodging, six meals, two snacks, a summer camp T-shirt, and lots of summer fun!

County Extension Coordinator Sharon Haynes stated, “We are ever so thankful for our supporters. Without county support, it is difficult to maintain a County Extension Office and the programs, trainings, etc. we have to offer adults and youth. The 4-H programs have never left; we are just conducting things a little differently amid COVID-19. We are excited to have summer camp again and looking forward to having our youth participate in summer camp.”

All registered campers and parents must attend the Mandatory Youth-Parent Camp Meeting on Monday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m., location to be announced. This meeting will outline all information needed to prepare the camper for their participation.

Register today and help us Celebrate 4-H! For more information contact Sharon Haynes, County Extension coordinator, at 256-377-4713; or Janet Lovelady, 4-H Foundation Regional Extension agent, at 256-284-3572.
