2021 Food Entrepreneur Conference to be held virtually
Special to the News
By Sharon Haynes, Coosa County Extension coordinator
Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) Food Safety Team, in conjunction with the Auburn Food Safety Institute, invites you to the 8th Annual Food Entrepreneur Conference!
The conference will be held virtually beginning at 9 a.m. on April 13 and April 14. This is a great opportunity for those seeking to start a food processing business or who may want to expand on their existing business.
With an excellent line-up of speakers, this year’s conference is sure to be inspiring while giving practical advice for your business. There will be representatives from the Alabama Department of Public Health, Alabama Small Business Development Center and Alabama Cooperative Extension System, as well as successful entrepreneurs from throughout Alabama.
The goal of this conference is assisting Alabama’s food entrepreneurs to be in position to capitalize on the nationwide trend to eat more locally sourced foods and locally produced products. With the state’s agricultural roots, food processing is a natural way to grow the state’s economy.
Conference attendees will benefit from the knowledge and experience of presenters, as well as having an opportunity to network with educators, regulators and other entrepreneurs.
Pre-registration for the virtual two-day event is only $50, a real bargain since registration for the live event was $150. Visit the Food Entrepreneur Conference Facebook page for updates to the conference agenda at www.facebook.com/aufsifoodentrepreneurconference.
The link for registration can be found at www.aces.edu/go/fec2021. You can also find information about the conference on the Coosa County (Alabama) Extension Office Facebook Page.
