Remembering Donald Lee
Union Square is praying together for the family of Neighborhood Watch President Kenny Shaw. We all are on one accord just for you all.
Birthday wishes go out to Union Square’s Bishop Eddie Edward, and Union Square praises him and the Buffalo Soldiers for the great work they do.
Mrs. Annie Lee Ward will be missed in Rockford. Our prayers are with the family, especially her sisters – the Austin Girls, I call them, with much love.
Our condolences and prayers are also sent to the family of Mr. Sweet Benson.
How can one describe Donald Lee? A humble young boy, a humble grown man, a kind man, a gentleman, a faithful husband and father, a great brother and friend. I knew Donald since he was a baby, which is why I use the noun “boy” in describing him. His mother, Effie Lee, was a special bonus sister to my siblings and me. My mother told me that she delivered Effie while Mrs. Pearly (Effie’s mom) waited for the doctor to arrive. (Too late, doctor.) Since that time my mom always called Effie her child.
Donald was my bonus nephew whom I loved, and my beloved daughter, Janice, loved him more. She was born on his birthday, and that gave her so much joy to share it with her cousin. She made sure Donald knew he was a bonus to her. Every year Donald’s wife, Pam, would bake a cake for Donald and Janice, and Pam is the best cake baker in Alabama.
Now both Donald and Janice are no longer with us here on Earth. The sweet memories live on. Donald liked to joke, but he was very wise and smart. He treated everybody the same, with love. He was real, with no phony bones. That is one of the reasons we admired him.
We all are missing Donald tremendously. It’s hard to believe he said “goodbye.” Everyone loved Deacon Donald Lee. May God bless and keep the family strong and healthy during these dark hours and always.
Let’s all of us pray for the victims’ families of Florida, Colorado and wherever killings may be going on. Let’s pray for peace and thank God for Jesus. They crucified Him during this time of season, as we celebrate Easter. But He rose, and He still lives today. Let’s live with Him and stop this killing, fighting and division among us. We need each other more than ever before.
Prayer list: Lady Vickie Hicks, Mrs. Carrie Tuck, Ms. Desy Few, and all who are under the weather, and Mayor Scott White.
Bessie and Daniel Robinson, I miss seeing you. I think of you quite often and love you guys.
