CHS senior awarded Alabama 4-H scholarship
Special to the News
Olivia Hay, a senior at Central High School Coosa County, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Alabama 4-H Foundation.
Olivia started her 4-H journey in 2014 and joined the 4-H Hot Shots Archery Club a year later. Since then, Olivia has represented the 4-H Hot Shots in numerous 4-H archery contests around the state.
Her 4-H experience spearheaded an interest in competitive archery, where she has excelled.
“Olivia is an accomplished archer. I am proud of her successes not only in 4-H, but in her other archery endeavors, as well,” said Janet Lovelady, 4-H Foundation Regional Extension agent.
Olivia will be attending the University of Pikeville in Kentucky on an archery scholarship in the fall.
“I am so thankful to be a recipient of this scholarship! Being in 4-H opened a lot of doors for me,” said Olivia. “I can’t wait to see what I can accomplish in the future, and this scholarship will definitely help me. Again, I want to thank the Alabama 4-H Foundation for this scholarship!”
The Alabama 4-H Foundation, through scholarships and other initiatives, is helping today’s young people become future leaders.
