CHS hosts 32nd annual Miss Centroid Pageant
Central High School Coosa County held its 32nd annual Miss Centroid pageant Saturday just before Spring Break.
Six girls in grades 7th-9th competed for the title of Jr. Miss Centroid, and six girls in grades 10th-12th competed for the title of Miss Centroid.
The afternoon started with girls dressing in professional attire to interview in front of a three-judge panel. This provides the girls with valuable real life experience for scholarship and job interviews.
Special thanks to our judges who are successful women with pageant experience: Shanice Butts is a seasoned pageant contestant and judge, Tasha Howell was Jr. Miss Centroid 2001, and Deonica Simmons-Matthews was Miss Centroid 2010.
The evening segment of the pageant allowed the contestants to first introduce themselves to the audience in their professional attire, and then they changed into their evening gowns. The girls revealed their beauty, both inside and out, to our audience and judges as we shared the accomplishments and aspirations of each of our contestants as they took to the runway in their evening gowns.
We are very proud of all of our contestants for having the courage to challenge themselves to grow and learn from the pageant experience.
Olivia Hay was crowned Miss Centroid 2021, and Eden Nickolson was crowned Jr. Miss Centroid 2021. Brynli Mitchell won Miss Centroid runner-up, and Am’boree Johnson won Jr. Miss Centroid runner-up.
Additionally, Reagan Cardwell won the title of Miss Exemplary, Catrina Burton won Miss Photogenic, Emma Whaley won Miss Congeniality, and Ruby Burks won People’s Choice.
