Community Calendar Week of March 19

February 3-April 14

Volunteer Connections of Central Alabama will be offering free income tax service in Rockford. They will be located in the E-911 building on Communication Drive each Wednesday from 9 to 2 beginning February 3 until April 14. Parking is in the rear of the building. Anyone wanting to get their income tax return prepared needs to bring all the documentation necessary to prepare their return, including a photo ID for the taxpayer and spouse, as well as their prior year tax return. You may call the main location in Alexander City (256-234-0347) for an appointment or more information. Be sure to tell them you are in Coosa County and want an appointment at Rockford.

 

March 19

Yard sale Friday, March 19, weather permitting – residence on Alabama Highway 22 West, about one-third of a mile from Rockford.

 

March 20

Trade Day at Bibb Graves Community Center in Millerville will be held on Saturday, March 20, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. To keep safe social distancing, wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer provided by the Center will be required.

 

March 25

The Coosa County Democratic Party will hold a meeting March 25 at 6 p.m. at the E-911 building in Rockford.

 

May 30-June 11

Registration is now open for Poplar Point Camp’s summer camp! Summer camp will be from May 30 through June 4 for 7-11 year olds and from June 6 through June 11 for 7-11 and 11-18 year olds. April 3

Equality VFD will hold its monthly first Saturday fundraiser on April 3. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs, as well as a bake sale and rummage sale in Equality at the old fire station (by the Quality Gas Station) on Highway 9. Lunch will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bake sale starts at 8 a.m., and rummage sale is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

June 7-9

Coosa County 4-H is accepting registrations for 4-H Summer Camp, which will be held June 7-9 at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana. Please call or visit the Extension office in Rockford for more information at 256-377-4713.

 

Monthly

The Hanover Neighborhood Watch Meeting is held every third Tuesday of the month at the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department building at 6:30 p.m. Always a meal before the meeting begins. Everyone is cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Y’all come!

This year, the food safety agents will provide current information on various subjects on the first Tuesday of every month at noon. We ask you to join us LIVE @acesfoodsafety on Facebook.
