Last week “The Coosa County News” reported on the updates that are being made atop Flagg Mountain.

A clarification is needed on the cabin rentals and prices. Flagg Mountain is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. The weekend prices reported last week of $90 for the cabin with a bathroom and $70 for the cabin without a bathroom are “suggested minimum donations.”

Also reported was that the bathhouse project has been completed; however, it has not been completed at this time, but the plans are finished and ready for construction to begin once the issue with obtaining water has been addressed.

On Tuesday, Rep. Ben Robbins announced that he was able to get $200,000 from the House General Fund budget appropriated for repairs and improvements at Flagg. As of press time, the budget was awaiting Senate approval, at which time it will be known whether the funds for Flagg Mountain were included in the final budget.
