The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
My old buzzard heart hurts. Tears run down my weathered beak. The Magnolia Trail is closed, a gate shut and a “No Parking” sign posted. And there was no mention of it in the last Town Council meeting. This can’t be permanent!
People donated their time to this project. They donated money. People left money in their will to this trail. It is a symbol of community in a community that is shrinking over time.
People need this trail. Not only to burn off calories from lunches at the café and deli, but to enjoy the outdoors together in a time when indoor activities are limited. Exercise is uplifting. And who couldn’t use a lift from time to time?
Where are the public servants we have hired for the town? What is government for? Our new mayor started out with such hope and optimism. Surely he can’t let the town trail go by the wayside. Has he assessed the damage, recruited volunteers? Schedule a work day, and I will call out the brethren.
We can at least be your eyes in the sky.
